Village of Hope

This is the video that God used to confirm to me that I was to follow Him and go with the Children's Art Village to the Village of Hope this summer. I have always wanted to work with children, and it wasn't until this past semester in chapel with the testimony of John Bul Dau from Sudan that God opened my eyes to the hurting children of Africa. John escaped the genocide and was one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan." Grace College showed his documentary (God Grew Tired of Us) and after watching it I felt a burden for the people of Africa.

As a Christian that was now more informed of the suffering in Africa, I prayed about how God would have me help in some way. Even though I am only one person, I know with God the possibilities are far from impossible. Through all my research online, I came across the website for the CAV. God has laid an opportunity before me to goto Africa and use my gift in art, love these orphans, and use art as a means of healing (art therapy). I am so EXCITED about that. I don't know what this might lead to but I am open to God's leading.
